Maine Pretrial Services, Inc. (MPS), originally known as the Bail Project, has been in existence for more than thirty-five years.
MPS was incorporated in 1983 under its current 501 c 3 status. With guidance from its board of directors, the agency has sought to provide services to criminal defendants in all of Maine’s 16 counties.
With guidance from its Board of Directors, the agency has sought to provide services to criminal defendants in all of Maine’s 16 counties. Over the last 10 years the agency has evolved into its current configuration with a presence in twelve Maine counties. MPS was incorporated in 1983 under its current 501 c 3 status. MPS currently provides pre-arraignment screening and risk assessment, pretrial release and supervision, Title 30-A home release programming, case management for all of Maine’s Adult Drug Treatment Courts, Co-occurring Disorders Court, Hancock County Deferred Sentencing Project, deferred disposition and administrative release supervision.
